WCAJC was established on February 8, 2006. The WCAJC provides individuals that are in trouble with the law a chance to take responsibility for their actions, offer amends and not have a criminal record. Instead of negative stereotyping we believe all offenders have the potential to be resilient if engaged in ways that affirm their value and worth as the starting point for positive change.
The main purpose is to carry out the extra-judicial sanctions program for offenders in the area. To enforce these sanctions members of the WCAJC work with the RCMP, Crown Prosecutor and Probation Office to offer an alternative to the traditional justice system for individuals. The WCAJC works with the offender(s) and victims in Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County.
