SAIT Petroleum Engineering Technology 2.59

Our program uses the most up-to-date technology to ensure students have the foundation they need to be leaders in the industry. The course is composed of 60% classroom lectures with 40% labs in state-of-the-art facilities. Students will be instructed and mentored by our industry experienced instructors. Our instructors have all worked in the jobs that our students will be entering into.

We want our students in the program to be passionate about the environment and be environmental advocates in the industry.

An important part of learning that our students get is from their peers. We have approx. 40% of our students are mature students coming from industry and have real world experience. Approx. 60% of our students are not long out of high school and their math skills are still sharp. The blend of the two creates great study groups where the different skills and experience complement each other.

Our Student Petroleum Society also plays an integral part of the student's education. They organize lectures and host events to introduce the students to industry. They are the largest student run club on campus and were last year's President Award for best student run club. Since 1959, the program has worked with industry and has resulted in over $75,000 per year in scholarships for our students. Our program has partnered with industry for the students' capstone projects, which has students working on real life problems in the field.
