Regina Punjabi Association (RPA) presents the Punjab Pavilion @ “Mosaic” A Festival of Cultures

The Regina Punjabi Association will be bringing together the ever growing Community of Sikhs in Regina and setting up a Pavilion in itself from the year 2014 onwards. (Punjab Pavilion)

These are very exciting times with in the Punjabi Community in Regina. It clearly will allow us to promote Punjabi culture; represent the Punjabi Community and organize a Beautiful, Vibrant, Colourful and Lively Social Event that all Races\Religions\Cultures can come and enjoy.

One of the biggest challenges facing any immigrant population and its subsequent generations is to preserve and promote their heritage to strengthen common bonds.

Regina Punjabi Association numbering about 2,000 people in Regina is no different. As the community gradually grows in size, all the board members and officials are dedicated volunteers without any compensation.

Regina Punjabi Association is here to promote education, good citizenship, community development, civic commitment and involvement, preserving Punjabi Culture, language, Dance, Sports and performing arts of the North-Indian State of Punjab.

We have decided to open this early to allow Participants, Helpers, Volunteers, Organizers, Performers, Singers, Djs, Vendor Stalls, Cultural Displays, Security Staff to come forward and let us know of their Interest in taking part and allowing a firm base to be setup towards a very successful and fulfilling Pavilion.

What to Expect
When the public comes to visit our Pavilion, we want them to feel Alive, the Power, the Energy, Laughter and Fun that belongs in the Punjabi Community. The ongoing “Happy Go Lucky” attitude towards life and living life in the Moment alongside the Strength and Bond shown within the Culture always expressed.

Year 2016 the Punjab Pavilion will be returning this year, but bigger than before. With Punjabi music and the Punjabi folk dance “Bhangra” which is well known in the world. Every Bollywood movie, for example, is now incorporating Bhangra songs, and Punjabi singers are becoming world famous because of the uniqueness of Dhol beat. However, Punjab is not only about music and dance, but exhibits a richness of culture and heritage from its Maharajas to modernism, arts to medicine and agriculture to multinational corporations.

There is a lot of passion and enthusiasm in the community here regarding the Punjab pavilion. With the support of Sponsors and all Participants it will truly be a great Pavilion to come and visit.

We will thank everyone who shows their enthusiasm, unparalleled dedication and support as well as their valuable time.

It is hoped that Punjab Pavilion will serve a major goal. It will showcase vibrancy of the Punjabi community as well as provide an overview about modern Punjab, its people, culture, and contributions that Punjabi society has made to Regina, Saskatchewan and to Canada.
