We believe in happiness at both ends of the leash!

Operating in Vaudreuil-Soulanges and the West Island, MCC My Canine Connection works with clients who are committed to the best life with their furry companions. Trained, experienced, licensed, we provide personnalized and affordable pet care services including canine evaluations, rehabilitation and training, dog-walking, and pet-sitting. We are a member of Pet-sitters International (PSI)!

Life gets busy, so whether it is a Walk 'n Play, a Pet Vacation while you are away, Doggy Adventures, learning good manners, or just overcoming bad ones, My Canine Connection has the solution. Our goal is to help you have a life with your pet that is happy, balanced and rewarding. No guilt, no worries, no fuss, no muss!

Services include

WALK 'N PLAY:
Dogs are walked in various local neighbourhoods and given supervised breaks to play and socialize together. Enrichment and games are incorporated into the Walk 'n Play sessions which are done in two shifts, morning and afternoon, of 3 hours each. The length of the Walk 'n Play on any particular day is determined by the dogs' needs, the weather, and the number of dogs. Dogs are evaluated for temperament, physical conditioning, and energy level prior to the first activity. Photos of your dog and his friends along with short updates are sent via text or Instagram.

DOGGY ADVENTURES:
This option is a more physically intense activity such as hiking, snow-shoeing, or off-leash nature walks in areas where dogs are welcome. Dogs are evaluated for temperament, physical conditioning, and energy level prior to the first activity. This option is for dogs in good physical condition only and who have good recall.

PET VACATION (PET-SITTING):
During your absence, we visit your home to care for your pets. We are insured and bonded and your keys are kept in a safe when not being used. Dogs are included either in the morning or the afternoon Walk 'n Play as well as receiving a 2 visits in the morning and evening for fresh water, feeding and an end-of-day walk and treat. Dogs are evaluated for temperament, physical conditioning, and energy level prior to the first day. We send daily updates and photos via text or Instagram to keep you up to date on your dog's well-being.

This service is also available for cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, lizards, mice and other rodents. It includes a visit once a day (or as needed) for play, fresh water, and feeding. Cleaning of the litter, cage, etc. is done twice a week or as needed.

REHABILITATION & TRAINING (DOGS ONLY)
Does your dog
• Jump on people or furniture? Urinate when excited?
• Hide behind or under furniture? Snap at or run away from other people or dogs?
• Destroy the house in your absence or soil the house during the night? Do they protect their food? Snap when startled? Eat their own feces?
• Need help learning to be clean in the house? Showing you when they need to go outside?
• Make walks a nightmare? Pulling or chewing on the leash? Putting on the brakes?
• Barking excessively? Digging to China? Humping everything in sight?
• Have compulsive behaviors that could be harmful or dangerous to him?

We can help! In our first meeting, we answer your questions, evaluate your dog and develop a personal plan of action to deal with the behavior. We start the rehab process and teach guardians how to keep it going by sticking to the principles of positive reinforcement, tweaking the daily routine if necessary, and keeping it simple.

TRANSITION COUNSELLOR:
• Need advice when adopting a new pet? Have questions about the care and development of your new pet? Looking for little tricks to make life with your dog easier?
• Introducing a new pet to your dog or vice-versa?
• Change in residence or lifestyle?

We are pleased to answer any questions you may have and introduce solutions to make these transitions easier for you and your dog. Sometimes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and we have affordable options for both!

Our business is licensed and all revenues are declared. We are fully insured and bonded. Ask about our discounts for dogs adopted from a legally registered dog adoption center or rescue (proof of adoption required).

She prioritizes the security and well-being of the dogs in her care and in fulfilling all 5 of their innate needs. Her techniques are based on the principles of positive reinforcement and on motivating the dog to learn. She believes that if the underlying problem is correctly diagnosed, a solution does not take hundreds of dollars or a series of sessions to correct. Her personalized approach ensures you and your dog will have the most effective solution for your needs at an affordable price.
