Literacy London Incorporated 2.1

Literacy London is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based community organization that delivers free one-on-one tutoring to adults in reading, writing, numeracy and computer skills. We are neighbours helping neighbours to achieve their career and personal goals.

Our volunteers have been delivering our free, customized literacy tutoring to adults, 19 and over, in London for over 40 years, helping them gain the skills and confidence they need to obtain meaningful employment, upgrade their education, vote, or simply read their medication labels and hydro bills.

Our one-on-one tutoring format enables us to work around our students’ schedules and ensures them confidentiality. It also frees our volunteers to focus on the individual student’s needs and goals, creating a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can work to their full potential.

The targeted training our students receive from our dedicated and experienced volunteers gives them the confidence and ability to become engaged, contributing members of our community, creating a better quality of life for everyone in London.
