Friends of Children - East Kootenays 2.42

Many East Kootenay (EK) children require medical services that are not available in this region. Families accessing needed medical services for their children face stress, life disruptions and financial hardship.

During this time, Friends of Children, a registered charity, provides financial support, resource information and coordination of services for families living in communities from the East Shore of Kootenay Lake, east to the Alberta border and north to Golden.

The most common funding assistance provided to families is for gas and accommodation costs related to travel for their child's medical care.
