Edward Arthur Wilson, better known as Brother XII, (July 25, 1878–November 7, 1934?) was an English mystic who, in the late 1920s, founded a spiritual community located just south of the city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, off the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. The group's beliefs were based largely upon the teachings of the Theosophical Society ("... an unsecterian body of seekers after Truth, who endeavour to promote Brotherhood and strive to serve humanity."). Wilson encouraged his followers to build homes with the goal of creating a self-sufficient community independent of the outside world.
