Family Planning Department of Feni District is headed by the Deputy Director who is responsible for implementing the FP-MCH Program throughout the District. Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Family Planning Directorate are responsible for formulating and executing policies and overall administrative guidance. The present Family planning services to Ensure safe motherhood including Emergency Obstetrics Care (EOC) services with provision of Skilled Birth Attendants (SBA), Increase male involvement in reproductive health especially in Family Planning, Increase acceptance of FP methods among low parity couples, Prevention of RTIs/STIs & HIV/AIDS etc.
We are running our services at 6 upazilas of Feni district and around five hundred service providers are doing the job. Our services are available among more than 15 lac people and 2,63,231(Feb 2014) number of couples at 248 units,6 Sadar Family Planning Clinic,33 Union Health & Family Welfare Center(10 up-graded center),19 RDs,156 CCs,342 Sattelite Clinic,2 MCH units and 1 MCWC.7 NGO clinic of Marie Stopes(4),Sonirvor Bangladesh(5) and Proshanti(1) are also providing the services in collaboration with government FP services.
Family Planning Program has made remarkable progress over the last thirty years due to continuous political commitment, innovative program approach, government and non-government collaboration, strong IEC program, method-mix cafeteria approach and commitment of the field-level functionaries.
Our present vision is to achieve MDG goals and also HPNSDP projection with our utmost effort and with the support of all sorts of people of the society. We need support from all corners of the society other government, non-government organization.
