Want to be a part of the HISTORY of University of Tasmania? well...

As the dawn breaks upon the Sand Bay Campus on the 26th of August (Wednesday), teams and spectators alike were limbering up to compete in the second UTAS Bubble Soccer Tournament, a FREE competition showcasing the most noble of sports; adults strapped into massive balloons trying to kick a ball.

There was a BBQ and a raffle to win great prizes and a lot of great music!!!

This is a not-for-profit tournament and could not be achieved without the help and sponsorship of the Mat Goggin Foundation, Unigym, the School of Business and Economics and the University of Tasmania.

FAQ (Globe Ride Australia)
Q. What is Bubble Soccer?

A. Bubble Soccer is a safe and fun sport where you simply pull the inflatable ball over your head, strap yourself in and play soccer!

Q. Is it possible to get injured?

A. Like any full contact sport, there is a chance of injury, however we reduce these risks by giving all players a detailed brief prior to playing as there are several things that players can do which significantly reduce any chance of injury.

Q. What do we wear?

A. Normal sporting attire is suitable, if you are planning to go elsewhere after playing (to lunch, drinks, etc) we advise that you bring a change of clothes. We recommend: standard sneakers, t-shirt, shorts, pants, tights, etc. We do not recommend: thongs, singlets, skirts, dresses, heels (low or high). We do not accept studded footwear or steel cap boots.
