The Lapidary Club of Northern Tasmania Inc. is a not-for-profit club that provides an environment where people with an interest in fosicking for gemstones, rocks, fossils and jewellery making can get together and share their interests and skills with each other.
The collecting and identification of rocks, then the process of cutting, polishing and crafting gemstones into beautiful items of jewellery is a fascinating and absorbing hobby.
Our club has up-to-date lapidary machines and equipment to fascilitate cutting and crafting gemstones into beautiful polished pieces.
Field Trips are offered to allow members to learn to fossick for gemstones such as Smokey Quartz, Petrified Wood/Fern, Sapphires, Topaz, Agate, minerals and fossils.
The club is open 9:30am to 1:00pm Tuesdays, 6:00pm to 9:30pm Thursdays (spring/summer) or other times by popular demand.
