I hold a grade 6 Trinity College of London qualification in practical classical guitar and a grade 4 AMEB in theory. I have been playing and performing; guitar for 25 years, bass guitar for 20 years, and contra bass for 10. I have performed guitar within a classical ensemble and rock bands, as well as playing bass guitar and contra bass within jazz, stage, and rock bands. I have been involved in several bands signed to labels within the rock genre and engaged in session work for EMI as a bass guitarist. I have worked within a studio environment on an individual and live ensemble level with a wide range of engineers and producers. This experience led to my direct involvement and part ownership of an independent recording studio in the Brisbane area for a number of years.

I have effectively maintained a roster of up to 30 students at a time, ranging from primary school to mature age. I have provided instruction on a beginner, intermediate, and advanced level. Within my teaching program, catered to the student/parent goals, I provide direction on theory, practical technique, practice methods, performance, instrument/equipment care and repair, as well as an understanding of equipment application.
