Crafting to Inspire 2.14

Hi! My name is Robyn Hicks and I have been a crafter for most of my life in many mediums. I have been paper crafting for more than 20 years, however, over the last few years I have been focussing on trying new techniques and styles. I also have a love for baking and cake decorating that has followed on from family history. This began 30 years ago when I attended certificate cake decorating courses. This has led to a home food business that is council approved and registered. I specialise in buttercream cakes, custom designed and delicious creations of cakes and cupcakes inspired by my customers.

I live in Adelaide with my husband, two daughters and two dogs. My two daughters inspire me to be creative and are the heart and soul of my projects. Whilst I am new to owning my own business and social media I am thoroughly enjoying these new experiences and am looking forward to the future ahead.

Through the years, my style has evolved, but my love for all things vintage, butterflies and beautiful flowers will never fade. I love creating feminine projects with lots of heritage colours, which is why I think I am drawn to the old, faded look of the vintage style. It is this vintage mix of designs, colours and the homespun touch that drew me to Charlottes Web where I taught many lessons in different forms of papercraft for over a year. I was also apart of the Charlottes Web creative design team.

Since then, I have enjoyed sharing my creations with other crafters, continuing to motivate and inspire people through different ventures. I also enjoy furthering my knowledge and skills through attending workshops and classes with local and international cake artists and by attending various craft groups.
