Based in Townsville Queensland, AWB Electrical and Maintenance Services commenced operations in 2013. Started by Albert Bourne, AWB Electrical an Maintenance Services can cover all aspects of electrical, from industrial through to domestic and everything in between.
Albert started AWB Electrical and Maintenance Services to fill a gap in the market. A service contractor which knows what they are doing, who is honest with the customer and understands the true meaning of the word “service”. To that end over 90% of our work is returning clientele. In order to maintain our highest levels of service Albert overseas all jobs with his small but skilled group of staff.
Albert has over 9 years’ experience in the electrical industry cutting his teeth on high rise construction then moving through to mining and industrial. Prior to this, Albert worked several years as a mechanic in several roles ranging from car dealership through to forklifts and is also a licensed mechanic. Albert has also worked as an electrical motor rewinder, a skill slowly being lost in Australia.
Albert’s fault finding ability is recognised worldwide, having repaired everything from portable grinders, through to industrial soft starters and marine shore power converters. Many times Albert has solved a “problem” that has baffled others.

In his previous role, Albert started and managed a pump workshop in Townsville producing a monthly turnover in excess $280,000 with a staff of three within two years of opening, gaining many customers including, BHP Cannington, QLD Health, Evolution Mining, Iplex, Vinidex. He also supplied all the dewatering bore pump sets for Cudeco Rockland’s open cut dewatering, over $400,000 worth while saving the customer over $300,000 and placing the dewatering schedule ahead two years.
Albert has extensive pump experience, having over seven years hands on experience from failure diagnosis through to system design. During that time he developed a mining pump which is arguably best of its type. Having worked in sewage treatment plants in both mechanical and electrical maintenance has also given Albert extensive experience in wastewater.
