Aurora Support Services previously known as Whittlesea District Branch of the Helping Hand Association for Persons with an Intellectual Disability Incorporated and trading as Whittlesea District Adult Training and Support Services, is a not for profit, charitable organization with a proven track record in the planning and development of high quality services to over 170 people with disabilities and their families / carers for over 43 years.

Inherent in this service provision is the ability to assess, plan and review the specific needs of client groups and to develop appropriate services / programs to meet these needs. This is illustrated by the various activities in our Day Programs as well as weekend activities, monthly camps and innovative school holiday programs, all of which cater for people with a range of disabilities i.e. intellectual, psychiatric, sensory and neurological.

Whittlesea District Branch of the Helping Hand Association aims to be a dynamic, exemplary community-based organization which provides a variety of flexible, appropriate services and supports for people with intellectual disabilities, their families and carers.

Our services focus on abilities and the developing of independence and inter-dependence in order to ensure that people develop to their full potential and enjoy a better quality of life.

Patrons of our services experience many exciting activities and community involvements including participating in shopping, bowling, picnics, camping, cruises (overseas as well as local) cooking, art and craft activities and barbeques.
