Wegkruip Strandhuis / Beach House 2.4

In 1956 my father, Louis Botha and his brother, bought the first of two plots and the second in 1972, adjacent to each other on what was then, the outskirts of the small coastal town of Still Bay.

On his plot, my father decided, in 1981, to build a comfortable, no fuss beach house that could serve our family for generations to come. The practical lay-out of the house was inspired by my mother. My parent's vision for the house was that each of their four children would have a room with a loft area for their families and shared kitchen and ablution areas. Our robust, face brick beach house was the result! Countless magical summer holidays and big and pleasant family get-togethers will remain sweet memories. We are privileged to still have our mother to enjoy this blessing with.
