Highway Skating Club 2.84

Upper Highway Roller Skating Club is a registered sporting club affiliated to Roller Sport South Africa.
At the club we take skating very seriously and are committed to developing the sport to the highest level. The skaters get the opportunity to participate in various competitions , shows, exhibitions and championships. We are by no means a meaningless game on the street.

UHRSC will :
1. Provide safe , healthy and enjoyable past time for persons of all ages. The skaters can skate for enjoyment or choose to participate in competitions.
2. Provide opportunities for volunteers who would like to get involved in sport.
3. Provide training and grading for coaches
4. Give skaters the opportunity to travel to different cities and even countries.
5. Give skaters the chance to meet other skaters from all over the country and world and make new friends.
6. keep skaters busy with a past time that is good for them and keeps them away from drugs, crime and violence.

HISTORY OF THE CLUB:
UHRSC was started in Dec 2014 with a group of 8 children who had previously been trained for roller derby , becoming the first Junior Roller Derby team in South Africa. UHRSC has since concentrated on developing artistic roller skating skills which gives all those involved a chance to compete countrywide and internationally.
The club is run by volunteers who offer their services free of charge to the club. Club fees are banked in a club account and used for affiliation fees and various payments the club has to make to keep operating.
8 girls representing UHRSC competed in South Africa Junior Artistic Roller Skating Championships. They competed for the first time in 2015 and came in 2nd place.
