ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
FOUNDERS & CO-OWNERS

Michael du Plooy paints under the name of Mtini. He started painting at the tender age of 19, and he has studied a BA of Fine Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. He has had two solo exhibitions in Cape Town, and is currently member of SASA. (South African Society of Artists founded in 1902) (http://www.sasa-artists.co.za/ ). His extensive experience in the hospitality industry includes restaurant management, silver service onboard the luxurious cruise liner “The Majesty of The Seas”, specialized barista training; private catering for functions; décor and flowers for events. He also had the privilege to work with Florist World Champion Hans Pretorius, who trained him in the flower industry.


About Prince Nolan 1st @ FCC

Nolan Allnutt. Originally born in Tzaneen in the old Transvaal moved to Port Elizabeth at the age of 1 yro. Since then he grew up there with his family. During his years at the Grey Junior School in Mill Park Port Elizabeth, he attended art classes. In 1989, at the age of 11 yro in standard 2 (Now grade 4). Nolan Allnutt received a "Silver Award" at the 1820 Settlers Foundation in Grahamstown for his painting of "Ducks on a lake" During his youth; he also took up pottery/ceramics classes. He matriculated from the Hill College Private Day School in 1997 at the age of 17 yro, Since then he has worked in Port Elizabeth until the age of 26 years old, when he sadly left the "Friendly City" for the "Mother city" and made the bold move to Cape Town. He had been living in Cape Town for 8 years of which about 7 years was in real estate. Nolan Allnutt has extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of Retail, Hospitality, Real Estate, Sales and Sales and Marketing, Landscaping and Art. During his stay in Cape Town, he held several art exhibitions in a wine estate, shopping mall and The Kirstenbosch gardens. In January 2013, Prince Nolan and his close friend Mtini launched Tru Colour Art gallery. Prince Nolan retired from real estate end of August 2012 to follow his love and passion for art and become a full time artist. To-date, he has sold several artworks. He is a proud member of SASA. On the 10th August 2013, he was crowned Prince Nolan 1st of Flycatcher Castle, by the one and only bronze sculpture artist Dr. Manie Connoway. He’s a prominent figure and a well-known bronze sculpture artist and owner of Flycatcher Castle.
