HOW OUR JOURNEY STARTED:

Sweet Xpress is the retail division of Joosab's wholesalers and distributors. A family owned business run by brothers Bilal and Zubeir Joosab. With the addition of Sweet Xpress CPT Ltd in Cape Town, they introduced the only independent and dedicated sweet wholesale and distribution company in the Western Cape. Sweet Xpress currently has branches in Durban and in Cape Town. We are continuously looking at growing and expanding our current footprint.

We are a confectionery wholesaler distributing across the nation to a wide range of outlets including wholesalers, forecourts, spaza shops as well as independent retailers. Here at Sweet Xpress we believe customer is king and strive to achieve service excellence in every facet of our business. We are one of the few if not the only distributors with a turnaround time of hours from order to delivery. Our aim is to continually improve on this so as to strengthen our motto of "ON TIME ALL THE TIME".

As an extension arm of our suppliers, we dove tail into their dreams and goals. Sweet Xpress currently employs a large number of reps servicing areas like KZN, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Gauteng. Sweet Xpress has its own truck distribution so there is no waiting on trucks. We aim to exceed customer expectations.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS:

Sweet Xpress was established in 1988 by Mr Ebrahim Joosab and his sons Bilal and Zubeir in Unit 11 Chatsworth. The core business was confectionery which serviced the unit 11 and surrounding areas. With the excellent business acumen of Mr Joosab and the fresh and youthful ideas of his sons, the business made a successful impact on their customers and grew from strength to strength.
Such was the impact that in 1990 Coca Cola appointed Sweet Xpress as their distributors for the Chatsworth and surrounding areas. Sweet Xpress also took on British American Tobacco as a supplier in the same year. The business eventually outgrew its premises in Chatsworth and moved to a brand new, much bigger premises in Jacobs. Mr Joosab decided to retire and the business was and still is controlled by Bilal and Zubeir.

They had decided to change the business model and focus solely on confectionery wholesale and distribution. In 2004 they made the bold move of parting ways with Coca Cola as well as BAT.Sweet Xpress is now one of the largest distributors of Cadbury and Beacon countrywide yet Bilal and Zubeir have stuck to their humble roots.
