Nguni collection 2.1

NGUNI COLLECTION is a home-based industry in rural KZN (lower South Coast) that employs up to 6 rural women who assist in the design, making and stringing of our bead/jewellery based business.
Our Terra cotta clay is sourced locally from our provider, Themba Zama. In addition we use white earthenware and stoneware. Under the guidance of daughter Jeanne-Louise and mother Robin our women roll, press, imprint, dye, glaze and smoke-fire the beads and other small items, such as birds, to produce our range. They are then strung together under our guidance.
Our work is natural, earthy, local and handmade with a very African flavour and we pride ourselves in having built this business from scratch many years ago to the small but active concern we have today.
With the growing demand for authentic, hand-made products that support local people, the interest in our work is always developing, inspiring us to constantly innovate.
