MAHARANI TILES was established in May 1989 in a 200sqm premises in Brickfield Road, Overport. In October 1990 the Directors attended the Cersaie Exhibition - the largest tile faire in the world in Bologna Italy. Almost immediatedly the company started importing tiles from Italy and Spain.

The aim has always been to bring a selection of tiles that was up to date with current trends in Europe. This has set us apart and gave us a leading edge in exclusive tiles. In 1996 the company moved to larger premises where an up-market showroom was established. In May 2002, due to the success of our exclusive showroom, a flagship store was opened in Umhlanga.

In 2003 our showroom, warehouse and new head office covering 3000sqm was accquired in Springfield Park which is placed strategically off the N1 highway. In 2006 a further 5500sqm was acquired for further expansion.In 2010a brand new,elite and stylish showroom of 1000sqm was designed. In 2009 we realized that we needed to expand nationally to the Gauteng region.

A premises was located in late 2009 and our designer Stephanie Woodhouse created our new concept store. In May 2010 our first Gauteng showroom was opened in Bryanston.

This showroom is unique in a sense that we have the VERSACE brand concept 'store' This Versace (Porcelain Tile) concept store is only the second of its kind in the world.

The completion of this Versace concept store is expected to be by December 2010.
