After a career as a nursing sister and a long standing passion for cooking and baking Janet Sawkins founded Madeleines.

She attended Christina Martin School of Food & Wine in 2002.

In 2003 she began training and lecturing at the school.

She has always had a passion to teach. So after Madeleines opened 8 years ago (which she ran from home) she has successfully opened her first shop which also encompasses a studio.

Lessons are given hands on with every person having their own station This presents a great idea for Companies to do team building exercises. We welcome Businesses and the like to customise lessons.

Our aim is to give serious lessons (Gourmet and Sugarcraft classes) but there are a lot of fun classes also being run (Beer tasting and Sausage making!)
