Jumping Kids was launched in 2009 by Johan Snyders (Icexpress Progressive Prosthetics) to address the needs of thousands young South Africans with amputations who do not have access to adequate prostheses.

Jumping Kids’ vision is to allow kids to be kids – the correct prosthetic solution allows young amputees to play, run, climb and jump just like any of their able friends which means they also develop at the same rate as their able friends and siblings.

Prosthetic technology is not accessible or affordable to all. Government and medical aids contribute minimally to the actual cost of obtaining a prosthetic, and even less to the development of the technology required for improving the lives of amputees.

Due to a lack of funds, persons with certain conditions are generally excluded from access to prostheses, such as young cancer survivors in remission, thereby denying them quality of life.

The fact is that the technology and expertise required to assist these young South Africans already exists!

Jumping Kids applies the latest in advanced prosthetic technology to assist children with leg amputations to get mobile, active, independent.
