Teaching our children how to learn is as important as teaching them content, because acquiring both the right learning strategies and background knowledge is important – if not essential – for promoting lifelong learning.

Our children need basic study skills to be successful in school (&beyond). They need to learn how to plan and organise; process and comprehend what they read or hear in class; be able to study for tests/exams and develop effective test-taking strategies.

At “Hit the books!” we developed a Study Skills Workshop that will teach your child strategies and techniques that will enable him/her to make the most efficient use of their time, resources and academic potential.

Developing and improving their study skills will help them in the following ways:
Become more motivated, being able to set goals and plan their time better - getting more work done in less time!

To make learning easier, and help retain what they've learned for longer -teaching effective concentration and memory/study techniques.
Being able to organising their resources, environment, and themselves for effective studying.
Improving their reading comprehension and note-making abilities.
Preparing for tests and exams.

Our Study Skills Course will run over 3 days, 4 hours per day. Our focus groups are grades 4/5 and grades 6/7. Depending on the interest we receive our venues (& areas), dates and times will be confirmed. Space will be limited since we will only take 10 learners per session. Workshops will be facilitated by a team of professional trainers. The minimum costs are R995 per learner per course, depending on the venue & area.

Should you want to know more or would like to receive emails regarding our Study Skills Workshop venues, dates and times, kindly email/sms us your details.

Warm regards,
