I am originally from Port Elizabeth. I qualified as a general practitioner at the University of Stellenbosch, 2008. I then completed my Internship at the Groote Schuur Hospital in 2010, followed by my Community service year at the Kraaifontein Community Health Clinic in 2011. During this period I also completed the General Surgical skills and Microsurgical skills courses at Tygerberg Hospital.
I then worked as a Medical Officer in Ophthalmology at Addington Hospital in 2012.
I subsequently completed the Ophthalmology residency program via the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2015. My training was conducted at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, rotating through St. Aidan’s Regional Mission Hospital, Addington Hospital,Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and McCords Provincial Eye Hospital.
I regularly attend Ophthalmology congresses and follow international studies and guidelines to keep up to date with the latest trends in the medical and surgical management of eye conditions.
