Deep Data is a technology applications company founded in 2014 and based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are focused on delivering applications of technology that are useful, relevant and beneficial to society. Our primary product, DeepAlert, provides a real-time alerting service using deep learning applied to video analytics.

This is a data-driven era and an era of rapid and potentially disruptive technology innovation. Our goal is not to shy away from this, but rather to help shape this era by making a positive impact in a number of application domains. This could mean helping make the neighbourhood safer, delivering better healthcare systems, performing early detection of wildfires, enabling discovery of new animal species and protection of existing endangered species or enabling a more balanced electricity or water supply for a greener planet. We aim to deliver real value for real applications.

Our staff have backgrounds in engineering, business, physics, astronomy, computing hardware and software development and high performance computing. We are problem solvers and understand technology. We understand about getting the job done and delivering quality. We are also curious, innovative and enjoy exploring new areas and meeting new people.

With many years experience working on some of the world’s largest and most technologically challenging radio telescopes, dealing with large scale data challenges is familiar territory to us. So, too, is innovative development around cost- and power efficient computing. We have a strong focus on data analytics and machine learning techniques and are excellent integrators of technology.
