Details

The company was founded in 1987 by Kees Beyers, a Belgian born confectioner who identified a gap in the South African market for high quality confectionery that could compare to products produced overseas.

Beyers Chocolates manufacture their own Beyers brand and private label chocolate ranges for retailers. The company's longest retail relationship and largest customer is Woolworths who have been working with Beyers to produce chocolate for 21 years. In addition, Beyers have produced chocolate ranges for the airlines, been involved in co-manufacture initiatives as well as diversified into licensed chocolate ranges with Disney Confectionary South Africa.

Beyers Export predominantly involves private label orders with international customers, including Marks & Spencer's and Waitrose (United Kingdom), Wal-Mart (United States) and Australian products which are co-manufactured. The international market has embraced the Beyers Chocolate brand with open arms, finding the range of products to be a high value confectionary solution offering unconventional products with a personal, hand made touch.
