BE SUN SMART aims to help 'create a generation of sun safe, sun educated children'
We do this by:
1) Providing approved educational material, roadshow, CANSA skin care adviser talks, competitions, incentives and more
* assist schools in implementing 'sun policies' and procedures
2) making sunscreen accessible by installing serviced dispensers in classrooms and common areas.

It's a fact that 80% of one’s lifetime sun exposure occurs within the first 20 years of life. A large portion of this time is spent while at school.

“If we can instill sensible sun protection habits at this young age, we can assume that this early learning will continue to influence their approach to sensible sun care throughout their lives,”

As parents it is our responsibility to teach our children ‘healthy habits’ - and BE SUN SMART does not in any way aim to replace. Rather, it aims to assist in reinforcing this incredibly important ‘life skill’. As parents we are not always there to reapply before children head off into the sun for PE or sports.
