The Observatory 5.08

Having spent its first year in the heart of District 1, The Observatory began as a multipurpose space that served as a platform for different types of art and music events.

After 12 months of drastic evolution, The Observatory shifted its focus from a broad range of art to a more specific concentration on music. Late night events - primarily but not exclusively DJ-focused - became more frequent, louder and ultimately boosted the rationale for finding a bigger space that could be flexible to the goal of becoming a significant underground music venue in Asia.

This has led to the current new location at 5 Nguyễn Tất Thành, District 4, overlooking the incredibly scenic Saigon river. Opening its doors on Thursday 27th November 2014, the new venue is powered by a fantastic sound system, the great team of staff we have developed over the past 12 months, and the same philosophy: quality music, a laid-back, friendly atmosphere and lots of fun.

Hosting a large range of both international and local acts, from DJs to live electronic musicians and bands, it's a place to enjoy the power of sound and music at what we hope is close to its full potential. The balcony also makes for a good place to observe the river gliding by (with a cocktail).

Since September 2018, we have lost our space and we are currently looking for a new one. In between, we are throwing pop-up parties in different eccentric location, please check out our event section to keep posted!
