St. Joseph's Charity School 2.55

St Joseph’s Charity School and Center identifies the poorest children in Bien Hoa who would otherwise go uneducated, due to the hardships of migrant working families in the Mekong Delta region. Poverty prevents these children, often second or third sons who lack birth certificates or are too old to register in government schools, the opportunity to learn to read, write, and do basic math, skills necessary to enroll in secondary schools. Following the national curriculum, the school provides an elementary education and daily nutritional snacks to children who would otherwise be isolated at home or working in low wage jobs to supplement family incomes.
