The Lifestart Foundation is a grassroots, not-for-profit charity that helps disadvantaged Vietnamese people and their families to become self-sufficient. Founded in 2000 by Australian Karen Leonard and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, the Foundation applies a holistic approach to helping those in need through proven working programs and initiatives which are designed to effect a generational change. These projects include:
The Lifestart Foundation Workshop, a safe environment where people with disabilities are empowered to earn a sustainable income through making handmade arts and crafts.
Educational scholarships to allow academically gifted children from disadvanted backgrounds to complete their schooling.
Housing project: we build homes for extremely poor Vietnamese families who are living in dangerous conditions. Each forever house will have a bathroom, kitchen and two bedrooms.
