Pastor Dion D. Crites Sr. received Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior on Easter Sunday in 1993 at Miracle Temple C.O.G.I.C. He faithfully served as a member at Miracle Temple for 18 years in various areas such as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Marriage Ministry Leader, Minister, and Elder. Pastor Crites also served as the District Evangelist for the T.T. Rose Memorial District and State Evangelist for the Central Illinois Jurisdiction. Pastor Crites was employed as the Chaplain for Jacksonville Correctional Center for several years before retiring on December 31, 2011. The calling of Pastor/Shepherd was clearly recognizable years before the Lord called Pastor Crites to launch Word and Spirit Worship Center on November 27, 2011. Pastor Crites is a devoted husband to his wife Lady Lisa Crites, a loving father to his children Dion Crites Jr. and Brie Crites and caring grandfather. This Man of God truly has a love for people and a desire to nurture the gifts that God has placed in them.


Vision
We see Word & Spirit Worship Center as a bible-based, spirit-led, multi-cultural organization existing solely as an instrument in the development of disciples and leaders.

Our Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.
We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for Him.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.

Purpose
Word and Spirit’s purpose is to:
Teach and Preach the Infallible Word of God.
Be Led by the Holy Ghost.
Build and Restore Families.
Train Leaders for the Building Up of the Kingdom of God.
Evangelize and Outreach in Our Community.
Live and Walk out a Life of Holiness.
Serve the Kingdom of God with Excellence.
Maintain the Ministry of Prayer.
