Biography

I am Meghan Valenti, the founder and director of Valenti Horsemanship, LCC, I have fifteen years of experience training horses in many different disciplines, all with a foundation in natural horsemanship and dressage fundamentals.

Early in my life, I began developing my horsemanship skills by working with many different horses under several trainers. I was Head Trainer for the People Helping Horses organization for four years, managing and personally working with over thirty horses. During this time I also developed a large client base with amateur riders looking to better understand and constructively rehabilitate their horse’s behavior.

Following the time spent with People Helping Horses I spent five years at Red Wagon Farm, a Dutch Warmblood breeding and training facility. There the focus was on raising and starting young horses, again with more than thirty horses under my care.

Currently I work with Skagit Animals In Need evaluating and training rescue horses. Working with the rescue horses has been a wonderful and expansive time for me, contributing even more to understanding the needs of horses who require a specialized training program.

Approach and Philosophy

Valenti Horsemanship’s approach to working with horses and humans is based on respect, love, and leadership.

The nature of the horse plays a very large role in determining the best program for each horse and human partnership. After evaluating your horse’s physical, mental, and emotional needs, I will create a customized program for both you and your horse. Teaching students why their horses behave the way they do is the most valuable tool I can offer. When you understand your horse only then can you learn to partner with your horse as a leader. Leadership is what your horse needs to be the best version of himself.

In working with your horse in this program you will have the opportunity to grow and expand your knowledge base and skills. You will also learn to recognize the emotions you carry that influence your horse’s behavior, either negatively or positively. This is the key element to developing yourself as a horseman/woman.

All breeds and levels of experience are welcomed and encouraged at Valenti Horsemanship.
