There has never been a more exciting time to be an Animal Science major in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In the next 40 years, the worldwide demand for food is expected to double. Our graduates will play key roles in meeting that need. The Department has internationally-recognized faculty who lead the resident instruction, extension and research programs in breeding and genetics, meat science, non-ruminant and ruminant nutrition, physiology, animal well-being, production and management. Species represented in these programs include beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, poultry, swine, companion animals and laboratory animals. Students who graduate in Animal Science go into animal production, veterinary medicine, sales and marketing, research and a host of other career opportunities. If your goal is to work with animals and have a fulfilling career, we can help you reach your goal. Contact us at 402-472-0204 or ansc@unl.edu.
