Tryon is an unincorporated community in and the county seat of McPherson County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 157 at the 2010 census. Tryon is part of the North Platte, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area.HistoryTryon was originally called McPherson, and under the latter name was founded in 1890. It was renamed Tryon in 1892; the source of this name is disputed.GeographyTryon is located at .
