The Riverwalk Gallery is an art gallery stationed in the wonderful little small town of New Madrid, Missouri. Located directly across the Mississippi River, the Gallery is placed inside the oldest house in town. Around 1836, a man by the name of Abraham Augustine traveled by boat down the Mississippi from Ohio and bought some land in New Madrid. The House started as a small two-room starter house from a Sears catalog. The house was finished at/around 1840. Since this time, the house has had different owners and has had four rooms added on. In order to keep the oldest house in town standing, the City of New Madrid was deeded the house in order to preserve this house and the history behind it while also providing entertainment and art to the community. They are also supporting local artists that are striving to make their name heard by sharing their amazing art for all to see.
