Details

Since it's renovation in 2012, the Reality Factory is a hub for creativity, small businesses, and community engagement. Run by local makers and entrepreneurs, it currently houses 1997 Mopeds, Grayling Ceramics, and Factory Coffee.

The building itself has a full history in Kalamazoo, with it's natural light and industrial-meets-modern aesthetic, 213 E. Frank St. has been the French Garment Co., the Black Diamond Skirt Co, the Young Rug Co., and H & P Pattern Co over the past century. It is currently located within walking distance to the legendary Gibson Guitar Factory.

Maintaining the creative momentum that runs deep in its walls, the Reality Factory is now home to the offices and workspaces of 1977 Mopeds, Grayling Ceramics, and Reality Coffee. There is open space for local makers to show their work, and in the past we have hosted small business entrepreneurs, local photographers, as well as individuals and organizations seeking a unique event space.

We continue to grow and seek ways to connect with our community.
Factory Coffee will be opening within the month, a coffee shop to both fuel the work that happens in the building and to share the beautiful space with Kalamazoo.

We look forward to meeting all of the locals that are interested in the work we are doing and hope to open this space to the community of artists and makers that prosper in Kalamazoo.

Stop in for a freshly brewed coffee and chat with interesting people, doing interesting things in our community!
