The Mighty 8th AF Historical Society, Georgia Chapter 4

The Eighth Air Force Historical Society was created in 1975 to preserve the legacy of the "Mighty Eighth," and the part it played in American history during WWII. To help tell the story of over 350,000 men and women who served with honor, and to memorialize the over 54,000 who were either killed in combat or taken prisoner

Children, descendants, and others who are representatives of these veterans saw a need to keep the history and experiences of these warriors alive. They call themselves "The Next Generation." Their goal is to preserve the Legacy created by these brave men and women who went before them, not because of the vanity of their accomplishments, but rather for the preservation of democracy and civilization. Maintaining the values of honesty, patriotism and courage as was exhibited by this generation will help future generations carry on the freedom of our great nation.
