The Heart and Trotter is a whole animal butcher shop offering San Diego local, sustainable meat products, masterfully butchered and crafted entirely in-house.

H&T is a new ingredient in San Diego's thriving local food scene and is amongst the best in the country. We're changing the way people think about eating meat by providing all natural meat, produce, and food products sourced only from small family farms within 250 mile radius of the shop. We receive whole animals, not boxed meats, and use every edible part of the animal to produce products including sausages, pates, rillettes, stocks, charcuterie, dog food, etc. Nothing goes to waste.
