The Christmas Dove was founded in 1973 in Barrington, New Hampshire, the hometown of founders Linda and John Svenson. Their idea was complicatedly simple. Linda wanted to create a beautiful place to shop; John a fun place to shop. It has taken over thirty years and over 16,000 square feet to accomplish and seamlessly coordinate both visions.

Today, the Christmas Dove is New England's largest Christmas store, featuring two stories and over thirty intricately themed rooms. We believe that it is no use being the biggest if you are not also the best. The Svenson family is therefore proud to purvey only the very finest holiday wares and 'funnest' toys and gizmos from around the world.

Our family invites you to take an afternoon shopping adventure at the Christmas Dove. Wander past hundreds of Christmas trees, wreaths and garlands custom themed and made on premises with Linda Svenson's timeless elegance. Explore our Halloween haunted dungeon and Witch's Outfitters shop. Play with our interactive Lionel train layout. Or simply sit on one of the benches on our Holiday Main Street or theater and immerse yourself in the joy and beauty of Christmas.
