Swallow School 3.52

Swallow's renowned educational history began on the same piece of property in 1844 when the original one-room schoolhouse was constructed by community members. This original building was demolished by fire and reconstructed immediately, reopening in January of 1894. The "new" building remains today and serves as the hallmark of the Swallow School District, 170 years later.

From the early days when students helped to tutor one another in reading, social studies, and arithmetic in a one room schoolhouse to today when students receive additional instruction in the areas of Spanish, music, physical education, art, science, and technology, we are proud of the rich traditions of academic excellence, collaboration between all members of the school community, and strong parental involvement.

As the community has grown, there have been several additions to the building and upgrades to the facilities to support the current enrollment of 550 students. There is tremendous pride by all staff in the commitment to ensure all students are prepared for the 21st century and that our curriculum and instructional techniques meet the needs of all learners. The Swallow School District is one of the top performing school districts in the state of Wisconsin.
