As pastor of SMOKY VIEW BAPTIST CHURCH, I am privileged and honored to offer the opportunity to invite you and your family to visit with us at the friendliest church in Blount County. As you glean an overview of our ministries on our web site, I hope that you will consider visiting us in person. The web site will give you an idea of the ministries we offer, but it will not portray the heart felt warmth that our people render.

Now more than ever, people are looking for answers to help them on their life’s journey. I believe that the Bible is just as relative to life today as it was when it was written. In this post modern age of relative truth, questions fill the minds of people that have been taught that truth is in the mind of the beholder. Yet relative truth has not answered the questions of divorce, alcoholism, pornography, and terrorism.

I believe that absolute truth is found in the pages of God’s Word. Every word, from beginning to end, is inspired by God. These words of instruction and guidance are the words of God Himself. They were given to us to instruct, guide, comfort, heal, deliver, and lead us to a better understanding of God and His love for us through His son Jesus Christ.

I hope that you will make plans to visit us in the near future. If you are looking for answers to life’s toughest questions or if you are looking for a church home where you can worship and minister freely, then Smoky View Baptist Church is the place for you. About Us

Smoky View Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and is conservative in their doctrine and free in their worship. We were established in 1974 on Highway 321 overlooking the beautiful Smoky Mountains. God has blessed our church with a beautiful sanctuary, educational space, a fellowship hall, a softball field and an outdoor pavilion on eleven acres with absolutely no debt.
We exist as a church to fulfill the Great Commission set forth in Matthew 28:19-20 which states, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (NAS)

Our church also exemplifies the Great Commandment. In Matthew 22:36-40, Jesus taught, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him,"' You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment.”The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." (NAS)

As you have the opportunity to visit with us in person, you will find that Smoky View Baptist Church is the friendliest church in Blount County. We hold true to what the apostle John said, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
