Smittie's was started back in 1934 by a man named Lester Smith. Lester developed a unique recipe for his soft pretzels, taking knowledge he gained from his service in Germany during WWII and his own Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Now over 83 years later his grandson, Todd Smith, owns the company and is still mixing Smittie's unique all natural recipe from scratch, hand-rolling all their pretzel items, and then baking them in an antique hearth stone oven.
Over the years Smittie's has branched out from the standard pretzel that started it all, many other items have joined the Smittie's pretzel family.
