Shimmering Light Renewal Center is a place of uncommon heart and grace. Individuals, families and groups come to find rejuvenation, inspiration and transformation on our ecological farm. Some absorb the tranquil atmosphere while enjoying other Finger Lakes activities. Others stay to engage in purposeful retreat, education and action, leading to personal, social and/or environmental renewal.

Find serenity in the heart of the Finger Lakes! The Renewal Center is located in South Bristol, NY overlooking scenic Canandaigua Lake. This 30 acre property is home to Shimmering Light Farm, an ecological organic fruit, vegetable and herb farm, that also grows our next generation of ecological farmers.

Retreat, meet, play or explore at our Renewal house, a cozy 4 bedroom Cape-Cod style home surrounded by fields, woods and hills. It is the perfect setting for small group retreats, meetings and families or individuals looking for a comfortable, soulful get away.

Surrounded by local wineries, Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, parks and lakes, the Finger Lakes area has much to offer. The Renewal Center is halfway down the west side of Canandaigua Lake, just 10 miles to both Canandaigua and Naples.

Your stay will be hosted by our lovely house manager, Sherry, who lives on the premises and provides any assistance you may need.

Farm-Based Activities
Guests are welcome to explore the region on their own, or take advantage of the many activities the farm has to offer. Shimmering Light Renewal Center is part of the non-profit organization, Seeking Common Ground. Our educational mission is to teach and inspire more conscious and restorative ways of life.

Out the door are 30 acres of fields, forest and ponds to explore…walking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, star gazing, camp firing. In the growing season you can wander across the driveway and buy just-harvested produce, and maybe even help around the farm if you wish. On the farm we raise over 250 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs, happy hens and are surrounded by neighboring vineyards. Come on a festival weekend for a harvest dinner and barn dance!

Also available to rent are two large gathering spaces for meetings, parties, weddings, workshops and special events.

Several farm-based educators live and work on the farm. Farm tours and immersions are available on request. Tours are free, immersion fee based on duration. Come learn about:
- Ecological fruit and vegetable production
- Culinary and medicinal herb growing and uses
- Viticulture and wine making
- Other on-going workshop topics, which are scheduled regularly

We also offered fee-based guided hikes of surrounding trails, forests, gullies and waterfalls :)

Spa services such as massage, reiki, yoga classes, aromatherapy, meditation, and more can be arranged for an additional charge. Feel free to suggest or request!
