Responsibilities
9-1-1 communications is responsible for taking emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls for the Shenandoah County, Virginia, as well as dispatching the appropriate law enforcement, fire and emergency medical equipment.
Goal
The goal of the 9-1-1 center is to provide a vital link between the citizens of Shenandoah County and the appropriate emergency service agency for their situation. That goal is accomplished by receiving incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service from citizens, ensuring that citizens receive public safety services by dispatching the appropriate agencies in the most expeditious manner, and referring non-emergency calls to the appropriate county department or agency.

Non-Emergency
- Call (540) 459-6101 if the situation is not of an emergency, life threatening nature, but does require some sort of a police, fire response, EMS, animal control, etc. response.
