We believe in God, the Father, infinite in wisdom, goodness, and love; and in Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord and Savior, Who for us and our salvation lived and died and rose again and lives evermore; and in the Holy spirit, Who reveals Christ to us, renewing, comforting, and inspiring the people of God.

The mission of Second Baptist is to worship Almighty God, promote the spiritual growth of its members, and advance the cause of Christ throughout the world.

Values are the things we treasure; they are the things that are important to us. We all have them, they are intrinsic to who we are and they exert tremendous influence on us; controlling the manner in which we do things. They are for the most part hidden in the structure of our lives (like a foundation hole) and fellowships, yet invade every aspect of our personal life and ministry. Our values find expression in and through our priorities and practices, shaping the philosophy of “HOW” we live out our purpose.

We believe it is just as, if not more, important that we operate with the right values than have right goals and vision. Sometimes we can have the right goals and vision and not have correct values. When this happens we can value and become committed to the goal, or the image of the success of the goal, more than values and in turn justify any means to accomplish the goal.

If we are to have God’s favor and blessings upon us it is extremely vital that we not only have the right purposes and goals but that that we function and operate according to His Kingdom value system.
