Saluda Lake is a 331acre reservoir formed by a spillway from the uppermost dam on the Saluda River in South Carolina, United States. The lake was constructed in 1905 for the purpose of creating hydroelectric power. Duke Power Company formerly owned the lake then sold it to North Brook Energy, LLC.FishingThere is a weekly bass tournament hosted by the original public ramp. The lake is also stocked. A neon green rattle trap has been successful as well as the traditional worm. Reeling fast tends to be more fruitful as the lake has a high average temperature of around 80 degrees in the summer. A depth of around eight feet seems to be where the majority of the bass are caught. There are also huge catfish in there. The only public access' are two pay ramps, one is eight and the other five.On a shallow boat, a ride up the river is beautiful and peaceful. There are steep faces surrounding the main body of the lake. The depth is forty feet at the dam.
