Rustic Canyon Recreation Center is apart of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. We are the old Uplifter's Ranch that was made famous by Will Rogers Abbot Kinney and William J Dodd.

To this day, a sign reading "Uplifters Ranch" hangs over Latimer Road near the site of the Uplifters former clubhouse, which had been designed by the noted architect William J. Dodd.

The clubhouse and ranch and their appointments, including a swimming pool, baseball diamond, and tennis courts were donated to the city in the early 1950's and developed into the Rustic Canyon Recreation Center and park.
