This page is an information center for current students & parents, as well as a gathering place for choral alumni who want to keep up on singing at the Rock.

Rockhurst High School's choral program has been growing over the last decade. We continue to strive for excellence and high achievement in all areas related to choral singing including sight-reading and musical ability, classical tone, and choral rehearsal and performance techniques. The choirs at Rockhurst include:

- Freshman & Rockhurst Choirs. These introductory ensembles for freshmen and sophomores teach the basics of reading music and classical singing.

- Advanced Choir. This ensemble is open to students who successfully complete the intro level and are ready to move on to learning and executing the kinds of choral techniques that will serve them well into their singing future.

- Concert Choir. Our top in-school ensemble is comprised of juniors and seniors who have progressed through the Rockhurst choral program.

- Chamber Choir. Rockhurst's elite, extra-cirricular ensemble is available to upper classmen who audition at the end of each spring semester. The smaller setting requires a higher level of precision and the high musical expectation allows for interesting and challenging literature.

Other performance opportunities available to singers at Rockhurst include Varsity Singers, an SATB collaboration with other area Catholic high schools. There is also a musical put on by the choral and theater departments each year. Many of our choral singers are studying to become accomplished solo performers as well, taking voice lessons, auditioning for District & State honor choirs, and competing at the MO state-wide level for solo singing in the spring.
