New Opportunity School for Women 3.51

The NOSW addresses the urgent need for women in Appalachia to become better educated and employed, and more than 800 graduates have realized their full potential as they have achieved successes for themselves and their families.

Jennifer:

“I needed to make positive changes in my life. I had been stuck in a rut and lost my sense of direction. The description of the school just spoke to me of the help I was needing.”


George Ann:

"The NOSW gave me the knowledge and skills to achieve my dream of going to college at the age of 50. Education is so important, and many Appalachian women are never aware of the opportunities for higher education. I was very thankful even at an older age to say that I became a first-generation college graduate. I am a testament to the impact that the NOSW can have on the lives of women and the generations that follow them."
