Mothers Voices for Children 3.34

The Mothers' Voices for Children Legal Defense and Education Foundation will be a 501c3 legal assistance foundation working with non-abusive mothers who have lost or are facing the loss of custody and contact with their children. MVCLDEF will operate an attorney/ counsellor referral service for mothers requiring legal assistance not currently available in their communities. It will be structured similar to the NAACP Legal Foundation and other public interest law firms. As financial support permits, MVCLDEF will hire staff attorneys who will work with other attorneys volunteering pro bono assistance and representation to the foundation and its clients. MVCLDEF will seek federal, state and local funding to support our activities on behalf of women who are denied equal access to legal and counseling services in their own communities. In addition, the Foundation will solicit low and high dollar contributions in support if our work through a professional fundraiser and direct-mail solicitation. Eventually, we hope to serve as a resource for attorneys and courts concerning the plight of women in America's family and domestic relations courts.
